The Canadian Rangers are considered the “eyes and the ears” of the Canadian Forces in the far north. Their expertise on the land in some of the most inhospitable conditions this planet has to offer is second-to-none, and the Canadian Forces heavily utilize their presence throughout the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut – and elsewhere in the Canadian “north”.

Here, four Rangers stop atop an iceberg northeast of the base of Alert while on patrol.
