I finally got somewhat of a “real” wildlife lens – a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM – which means hopefully I’ll be able to take advantage of more of those opportunities where I’m surrounded by wildlife. My work often puts me into the context of wildlife: I’ve spent a lot of time on the barrengrounds tundra north of Yellowknife, and have seen some magnificent herds of caribou, falcons, swarms of ptarmigans, foxes, rabbits, and more (although the grizzly bear continues to elude me). Here’s to hoping this lens helps me out a little….
This particular shot was photographed on Niven Lake, on June 6, 2010.
